ICC launch War Crimes investigation

ICC launched war crimes investigation of Russia. Accordingly unprecedented number of countries backed the move. In this situation Boris Johnson called the military intervention of Puton “abhorrent”.

Russia, led by Vladimir khuilo, launched a full-scale war against Ukraine on 24 February 2022. Earler Russia doing eight years of hybrid war include the occupation of Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk.

Killing civilians and other War Crimes

From the first days of the war, the Russian Federation hit residential areas in Ukrainian cities, destroying them and killing civilians. Subsequently, the aggressor besieged cities, killing people with hunger and thirst.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy:

We are stepping up the work to bring the occupiers to justice. There must be a case before the International Court – and there will be. For everything they have done against Ukraine, against our people, for every act of terrorism by Russian troops in our country. The Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine and law enforcement officers have already started this work.

At this time the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Karim A.A. Khan, and the investigative team of the ICC arrived in Ukraine. Without delay they will collect evidence of war crimes committed by the Russian Federation.

Karim A.A. Khan:

I will also be asking for the support of all States Parties and the international community as a whole as my Office sets about its investigations. I will be calling for additional budgetary support, for voluntary contributions to support all our situations, and for the loan of gratis personnel. The importance and urgency of our mission is too serious to be held hostage to lack of means.

I will continue to closely follow developments on the ground in Ukraine, and again call for restraint and strict adherence to the applicable rules of international humanitarian law.
